Confidentiality and data protection

We endeavour to keep all data and information collected confidential. The exceptions to this are:

• Where national security or serious criminal activity is involved.
• Where there are safeguarding or child protection concerns.
• Where you or someone else is at significant risk of harm.
• Where we are subpoenaed by a court.
• All All At Sea therapists undergo clinical supervision, to ensure best practice. They may discuss your case within supervision, your anonymity will be protected.

Accessing your data:

• You have the right to apply for access to any records kept about your care, support, and treatment (Subject Access Request). This request must be made in writing. Parental requests for records will be subject to the young person’s permission.
• You have a right to request that your records are deleted at any time; this is reviewed on a case by case basis and where it is deemed that All At Sea has a ‘legitimate interest’ in keeping your records in line with legislation we will inform you of why your request may be denied. This request must be made in writing.

Therapy contract

All All At Sea therapists work within the ethical framework for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy as set out in the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

Your therapist will offer you regular therapy appointments, either F2F, Walk and Talk or remotely, as agreed between you.

They will work with you towards reaching your goals and a review of your therapy will be undertaken regularly with you.

Your therapist will have no contact with you outside of sessions unless it is related to appointment dates and times.

All At Sea therapist are not a crisis service. Please contact your GP, NHS 111 or the Samaritans, or in an emergency call 999.

Attendance and payment

• If you are unable to attend an arranged session, please let us know straight away.
• Appointments cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will incur the full session fee.
• If you are late attending your session, it will still end at the original planned time.
• If your therapist has to cancel an appointment they will give you as much notice as possible.
• BACS payments must be received more than 48 hours prior to each booked session.
• The signatory of this agreement is responsible for ensuring payment is made.
• The cost of therapy does not include providing reports for other agencies. These will incur an additional charge.
• All At Sea reserve the right to periodically review their fees, at least 28 days’ notice will be given of any changes.

Therapy with a young person

• As a parent or guardian, you are giving consent for us to work with your child. The information shared in sessions is confidential and can only be shared with the young person’s consent.
• We will have no contact with a young person outside of the sessions.

Couples and family therapy

• The signatory is signing on behalf of their partner or family member/s and has made each individual attending the therapy sessions aware of Confidentiality, Data Protection and the information within this contract.
